The value of trade between China and Portuguese-speaking countries grew 3.8% year-on-year to US$58.836 billion between January and May 2019, according to official Chinese figures released by Forum Macau. Angola came in second by value, with two-way trade worth US$11.098 billion (-3.26%), with China selling goods worth US$745 million (-13.21%) and buying products worth US$10.352 billion (-2.46%). Trade with Portugal amounted to US$2.673 billion (+13.43%) in the first five months of the year, with Chinese companies selling US$1.745 billion (+21.25%) and importing products worth US$928 million (+1.17%). Trade with Mozambique totalled US$963 million (+2.01%), with China selling US$719 million (+5.87%) and Mozambican companies exporting products worth US$244 million (-7.88%)..
